Phlebotomist

Pay Rate: $28.00/hr

We are currently seeking candidates for a Phlebotomist position with a prominent and well-respected Hospital in the Syracuse, NY area. Shifts are for 10 hours and vary between start times of 7:30am to 9:30am.  This is a contract opportunity with eligibility to extend; however, the department is looking for candidates who may have interest in becoming a permanent employee.

As a Phlebotomist, you will ensure excellent patient care through successful completion of duties including:

• Venipuncture and micro sampling blood collection for adults and children as requested
• Performing bleeding times, sweat chlorides and glucose tolerance tests
• Maintaining a clean and safe sampling area
• Greeting patients and entering patient demographics and test results into Laboratory Information System
• Delivering specimens and process specimens for analysis
• Other duties as assigned

Background Profile of a Phlebotomist

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• One year of related phlebotomy experience strongly preferred, but will consider recent graduates of a phlebotomy program
• Proficient computer skills including prior experience with an EMR required
• Must be a team player, professional, with the ability to provide the highest quality of patient focused care
• Ability to satisfactorily and efficiently complete daily blood draws and maintain patient confidentiality
• Vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza
• Must be able to successful pass pre-employment health clearances

The compensation for this Phlebotomist opportunity is $28/hr
