This opportunity is a temporary contract for a Full-Time position working Monday through Friday (8a-5p). The contract period runs through the end of October 2022 and would work REMOTELY most of the time. Travel into the office is expected 10% of the time, otherwise all work will be done remotely. Qualified candidates must reside in the Rochester, NY area. While on contract, employees will have access to internal job boards of this client to apply and interview for other permanent roles.

Compensation for the Employee Relations Business Partner role will be $24 - $28/hr - depending on experience.

Responsibilities of the Employee Relations Business Partner:

  • Communicating with employees and their concerns in a constructive and diplomatic manner to reach a resolution
  • Ensuring all Code of Conduct, Ethics and Compliance, and State and Federal laws are being followed and everyone stays in compliance
  • Conducting exit interviews for terminated employees and documenting all interactions
  • Responding to all questions regarding employee leave benefits (FMLA, SSTF, Paid Family Leave, Worker’s Compensation, etc.)
  • Representing the Company in unemployment hearings and Department of Labor and Department of Human Rights complaints
  • Attending in-office meetings and counseling sessions to ensure employee relations initiatives are being met
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Background Profile of the Employee Relations Business Partner:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related area with two years of work experience in HR
  • In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources required
  • Previous experience with administration of FMLA, Disability, WC, OSHA, and ADAAA preferred
  • Strong employee relations skills to engage, counsel, and performance manage employees
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to assist with conflict resolution, decision making, and group presentation
  • Capability to travel (10% of job) into the office for face-to-face employee interactions
  • Vaccinated for COVID-19
