Human Resources Generalist
$25/hr.
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist for an outstanding non-profit organization in Syracuse, NY. In this HR Generalist role, you will assist with day-to-day administrative human resources functions including compliance, benefits, payroll, records management, recruitment, and additional HR activities as assigned.
Your role
- Process weekly payroll and maintain employee time records
- Assist in administering human resources policies and procedures
- Assist with all aspects of recruitment – screening and interviewing applicants, background checks and scheduling drug tests
- Collect and maintain HR data related to compensation, benefits, training, recruitment, and retention
- Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details; perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers
- Conduct or assist with new hire orientation
- Responsible for handling renewals of all insurance coverages
Background Profile
- 3+ years of office experience, with at least 1 year in a Human Resources department and 2+ years of accounting related experience
- Experience with Quickbooks and Data Entry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
